Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): In a significant political development in Maharashtra, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis has officially staked a claim to form the government. Accompanied by Shiv Sena's Eknath Shinde and NCP's Ajit Pawar, Fadnavis submitted a letter of support to Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan on behalf of the MahaYuti alliance. Prominent leaders, including BJP's central observers Nirmala Sitharaman and Vijay Rupani, were present during the meeting. Speaking to the media, Fadnavis stated, "We have met the Governor and handed over our letter of support to stake a claim to form the government.

Our alliance partners, Shiv Sena and NCP, have requested the Governor to administer my oath as the Chief Minister of MahaYuti. The Governor has accepted our request and invited us for the swearing-in ceremony tomorrow at 5:30 PM." The swearing-in ceremony, scheduled for December 5, will take place in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Fadnavis added, "We will finalize the list of ministers taking the oath by tomorrow evening. Yesterday, I met Eknath Shinde and urged him to stay with us, as it aligns with the aspirations of MahaYuti workers. I am confident he will stand by us. Together, we will fulfill the promises made to the people of Maharashtra."

During the BJP legislative party meeting, Sitharaman congratulated Fadnavis on being unanimously elected as the leader of the BJP legislature. She remarked, "I extend my congratulations to all elected MLAs and to Fadnavis on his leadership. This election was more than a routine assembly election. After the Lok Sabha results, the people of India have given a resounding mandate in Haryana and Maharashtra, signaling their support for a developed and progressive India. Maharashtra’s unprecedented victory is a testament to this vision." As Fadnavis’s leadership was unanimously endorsed, party workers enthusiastically chanted, "Deva Bhau, you move forward!" marking the beginning of a new chapter in Maharashtra's governance under the MahaYuti alliance.
