New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The troubles of the prestigious coaching institute FIITJEE, which prepares students for engineering and medical competitive exams, have increased. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken major action against the institute's owner, DK Goyal, conducting raids at 10 locations, including in Delhi, Noida, and Gurugram. ED takes major action against FIITJEE owner DK Goyal, raids 10 locations in Delhi-NCR: According to sources, the ED's action comes in response to the sudden closure of several FIITJEE centers, leaving the futures of thousands of students hanging in the balance. Reports suggest that the closure of the institute has caused damage to around 12,000 students, while the owners reportedly gained about ₹12 crore from it.
Earlier in February, Noida police had frozen FIITJEE's bank accounts. ₹11.11 crore were seized from these accounts. A case was registered at Sector-58 police station, where FIITJEE’s owner, Dinesh Goyal, along with 8 others, was booked under serious charges such as criminal conspiracy and breach of trust.
FIITJEE is accused of abruptly closing its centers after taking fees from hundreds of students, without conducting classes or refunding the fees. Additionally, employees had not been paid their salaries for a long time, raising serious concerns about the institute's financial condition and management. The ED's raids are ongoing, and further revelations in the case are expected.
