New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): After receiving an invitation for talks from the central government, the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) is considering revising its plans. The farmers' group had previously announced a march to Delhi on February 25. However, with the central government inviting them for a third round of talks on March 19, the farmers have decided to adjust their course of action. Despite this, they have made it clear that the protest will continue.

On Saturday, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan held discussions with farmers in Chandigarh. The farmers are demanding a legal guarantee for the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for their crops, among other issues. The next round of talks is now scheduled for March 19. A KMM official confirmed that, in response to the government's invitation, they will avoid entering Haryana's borders but will continue their demonstrations in other areas until March 19.

Following the meeting, Minister Chauhan described the discussions as cordial and stated that the next round of talks would take place in Chandigarh on March 19. He also mentioned that the government had presented the Kisan Kalyan program, a key priority of the Narendra Modi administration. Punjab Cabinet Ministers Harpal Singh Cheema, Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, and Lal Chand Kataruchak were also present at the meeting.

A delegation of farmers, including Jagjit Singh Dallewal and Sarwan Singh Pandher, had already arrived at the meeting venue. Afterward, the farmer leaders stated that they had presented evidence supporting their demand for a legal guarantee on MSP.
