Canada: Punjabi Student Fatally Stabbed in Ontario, Suspect Arrested

Toronto(The Uttam Hindu): A 22-year-old Indian student, Gurasis Singh, was stabbed to death in Sarnia, Ontario, on December 1. Local police responded to a stabbing report and found Singh's body in a residence. Authorities arrested 36-year-old Crossley Hunter, who has been charged with second-degree murder.


Two men living in the same rooming house were involved in a kitchen scuffle that turned fatal as the men stabbed each other. Singh, a business student at Lambton College, was identified after a post-mortem investigation. Sarnia Police confirmed that the crime does not appear to be racially motivated, and the investigation is ongoing. Lambton College expressed its condolences to Singh’s family and the community, calling the loss a tragic event.
