New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): With the Delhi Assembly elections on the horizon, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched its manifesto, which includes what national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has referred to as 'Kejriwal’s Guarantee.' In an effort to instill confidence among Delhi’s residents, Kejriwal presented 15 key promises that the party aims to fulfill if it secures power in the next five years. A significant promise made by Kejriwal is the Employment Guarantee, emphasizing that every person in Delhi should have access to employment. He assured that his team is working on a comprehensive strategy to generate significant job opportunities across the city. In another major commitment Kejriwal introduced the Mahila Samman Yojana Guarantee which will provide a monthly stipend of Rs 2,100 to every woman in Delhi. This scheme will be launched as soon as the AAP government takes office. Staying true to the party’s focus on welfare, Kejriwal promised the Sanjivani Yojana Guarantee, ensuring that senior citizens will receive the best possible healthcare treatment with all expenses covered by the Delhi government. Another key promise was the Waiver of Wrong Water Bills Guarantee with Kejriwal stating that once AAP is in power the government will rectify all incorrect water bills and cancel any charges on affected residents.

Addressing the challenges of the 2020 manifesto Kejriwal acknowledged that three promises—providing 24-hour clean water , cleaning the Yamuna  and improving Delhi's road infrastructure —had not been fully realized. He reassured Delhiites that these issues remain a priority and would be completed in the next five years with a clear plan and the necessary funds. To further bolster the education sector, Kejriwal announced the launch of the Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship Scheme , aimed at ensuring that no Dalit student’s aspirations are hindered by financial barriers. The scheme will cover all costs—tuition, travel, accommodation and food—for Dalit students studying at foreign universities. The AAP also promised free bus travel for all students both school and college and a 50% discount on Delhi Metro fares. Additionally, Pandits and Granthis will receive a monthly honorarium of Rs 18,000 once the government is formed. Addressing the issue of free utilities, Kejriwal assured that **tenants** in Delhi, who are currently excluded from the benefits of free electricity and water will be included under a new scheme after the formation of the AAP government.

In terms of infrastructure the manifesto includes a Sewer Repair Guarantee , promising to fix blocked sewers within 15 days of the new government’s formation. Kejriwal blamed previous administrations for intentionally obstructing sewers and assured that these issues would be swiftly addressed. The party also outlined support for auto drivers, promising free educational coaching for their children along with life insurance of Rs 10 lakh and health insurance of Rs 5 lakh for their families. Additionally, the government will allocate funds to Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) to help them hire private security guards for their neighborhoods. Kejriwal also confirmed that the six key initiatives from the previous term will continue. These include 24-hour free electricity , free water , high-quality education, free pilgrimages for the elderly, free bus travel for women and the expansion of hospitals and Mohalla clinics to provide free healthcare for all. The 15 guarantees outlined by AAP reflect the party’s unwavering commitment to improving the lives of Delhi’s residents. With a strong focus on healthcare, education, infrastructure and social welfare, these promises aim to address the most pressing needs of the city and work toward a brighter future for all.
