Sonipat (Haryana) (The Uttam Hindu): A tragic accident occurred near Piau Maniyari on the Kundli-Sonipat National Highway-44, involving a punctured pickup Bolero and a speeding Fortuner. The collision resulted in the death of the cleaner and serious injuries to the driver. Four youths in the Fortuner were also injured.
According to reports, Pritam, a resident of Mohammadabad village, was driving the Bolero from Bahalgarh to Delhi with his cleaner, Yogesh. When they reached near Piau Maniyari, the vehicle's tyre punctured. Yogesh stepped out to inspect the puncture, while Pritam remained inside. Suddenly, a speeding Fortuner coming from behind crashed into the Bolero. The impact was so intense that Yogesh, standing on the road, was killed instantly, while Pritam sustained severe injuries to one of his legs.
The four occupants of the Fortuner were also injured in the accident. The police arrived at the scene promptly, cleared the traffic jam, and removed the damaged Fortuner with the help of a crane. All the injured were taken to the civil hospital for treatment. The police are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
