Update: 2024-12-17 09:22 GMT

Telangana (The Uttam Hindu): In a significant development in the Pushpa 2 fan death case, sources reveal that Telangana police officials are likely to approach the Supreme Court. They plan to challenge the interim bail granted to Allu Arjun in connection with the tragic incident. More details are expected to follow. Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13, 2024, after a woman died during the screening of Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad earlier this month.

The chaos unfolded as large crowds gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor, who was attending the event along with music director Devi Sri Prasad. During the commotion, the theatre's main gate collapsed, causing a stampede. Tragically, a 35-year-old woman lost her life, and her 9-year-old son was severely injured. Following his arrest, Allu Arjun was sent to 14-day judicial custody. However, he was granted interim bail for four weeks on a personal bond of ₹50,000. Due to paperwork delays, he spent a night in jail before his release. After being granted bail, Allu Arjun expressed his deep regret over the incident, calling the woman's death "very unfortunate."

He issued a statement saying, "I thank everyone, this incident was very unfortunate, we are extremely sorry for what happened, we are with the family, this never happened with anyone, and I am here to support the family in every way. I am thankful to everyone." In a subsequent statement, the actor addressed his decision not to visit the family of the victim, explaining that his legal team had advised him against doing so at this time. He added, "I remain deeply concerned about young Sri Tej, who is under constant medical care after the unfortunate incident. Due to the ongoing legal proceedings, I have been advised not to visit him and his family right now. My prayers are with them, and I am committed to taking responsibility for addressing the medical and family needs. I wish him a speedy recovery, and I look forward to meeting him and his family as soon as possible."
