Allu Arjun questioned for 3 hours in stampede case, what's coming next? Key questions revealed
Hyderabad (The Uttam Hindu): In the Hyderabad theater stampede case, actor Allu Arjun was questioned for over three hours by the police on Tuesday. During the interrogation, the police asked him several questions, and reports suggest that Allu Arjun might be called again for further questioning or to assist in recreating the crime scene to determine his location during the stampede. Sources indicate that when the actor was asked whether he learned about the death of Revathi the next day, he confirmed that he had. Allu Arjun arrived at the Chikkadpally police station around 11 AM with his father, Allu Aravind, and his lawyers, and the questioning continued until 2:45 PM. A police team led by DCP Akshansh Yadav from the Central Zone conducted the questioning.
The police are reportedly investigating whether Allu Arjun had prior permission to attend the premiere show at the Sandhya Theater and whether he or his PR team coordinated with the police about the situation at the venue. Questions raised included whether the management had advised him not to attend, if the police had permission, and how many bouncers were arranged for security. In anticipation of the questioning, the Chikkadpally police had set up tight security and imposed traffic restrictions on roads leading to the police station. A notice was issued to the actor to appear before the police on December 23 for further inquiries into the incident and possibly visit the crime scene to gather facts. Earlier in the day, additional security was deployed at Allu Arjun’s residence in Jubilee Hills, where he waved to the media before heading to the police station. The actor had previously stated his willingness to cooperate with the investigation.
The notice for Allu Arjun to appear came a day after the Police Commissioner C.V. Anand released a video showing the sequence of events at the theater. On December 4, during a screening of "Pushpa-2" at the Sandhya Theater, a stampede led to the death of a 35-year-old woman, and her 8-year-old son was hospitalized. Following the incident, the police registered a case against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theater management based on a complaint from the deceased woman's family. The actor, named as accused number 11, was arrested on December 13 but granted four weeks of interim bail by the Telangana High Court the same day. On December 4, the stampede occurred at the Sandhya Theater during the screening of "Pushpa-2," leading to the tragic death of a woman, which prompted the police to issue a notice for Allu Arjun's questioning.
