Delhi NCR Weather Update: Rain Alert Issued, Cold Winds to Blow Today
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Delhi-NCR experienced cloudy skies throughout Saturday with rain accompanied by chilly winds in the evening, intensifying the winter chill. The maximum temperature recorded on Saturday was 17°C, while the minimum temperature was 7.1°C.
According to the Meteorological Department, rain is also expected today, Sunday with the minimum temperature predicted to be around 11°C and the maximum at 17°C. The sky is likely to remain overcast with chances of drizzle in several areas. Winds are expected to blow at speeds ranging from 4 to 8 kilometers per hour. On Sunday evening, fog may begin to develop over Delhi, as per the forecast. Additionally, a yellow alert has been issued for fog on Monday and Tuesday mornings.
The impact of a western disturbance was evident on Saturday, leading to cloudy skies in many regions. Light drizzling began in some areas after 3 p.m., making the weather colder. The weather is expected to clear up on January 13 and 14 with sunshine anticipated across most areas. Moderate fog will persist in several regions with dense fog in isolated places. During this period, the minimum temperature is expected to be around 8°C, while the maximum temperature could reach 20°C.
