Women Achievers to Manage PM Modi's Social Media Accounts on Women's Day
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that in honour of International Women's Day on March 8, he will be handing over his social media accounts to women achievers from various fields. Speaking during his monthly Mann Ki Baat address, Modi shared that these accomplished women will use his social media platforms to talk about their work, experiences, and contributions.
Modi highlighted the increasing participation of women across diverse sectors, expressing his admiration for their achievements. “Let us celebrate and respect the indomitable spirit of women,” he said, emphasizing their growing presence and impact in various industries.
This is not the first time Modi has made such a gesture. In 2020, on International Women's Day, he had similarly handed over his social media accounts to seven influential women from different fields, enabling them to share their stories with his vast audience.
With millions of followers on platforms like X, YouTube, and Instagram, Modi is one of the most followed leaders globally, making this initiative an excellent platform for highlighting women’s achievements.
In addition to this, Modi addressed the growing concern of obesity in India, urging people to take proactive steps towards becoming fitter and healthier. Citing research, he revealed that one in eight people in India suffer from obesity, with the number of cases having doubled in recent years, and the issue growing fourfold among children. He encouraged people to reduce their oil consumption by 10 percent and challenged others to do the same in a chain reaction of health-conscious actions.
The Prime Minister also played audio messages from prominent personalities, including Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra, urging people to take action against obesity.
Further, Modi appealed to citizens to observe National Science Day by spending a day at research laboratories or planetariums, encouraging them to explore the world of science. Additionally, he offered words of encouragement to students taking their board exams, advising them to stay "happy and stress-free." He also noted the positive response to the revamped Pariksha Pe Charcha, a platform designed to ease exam-related stress.
