Tragic Road Mishap: Mother-Son Duo Killed in Truck Accident Near Panipat

Panipat (The Uttam Hindu): A tragic road accident on the Delhi-Panipat lane of GT Road claimed the lives of a mother and her 21-year-old son after a speeding truck crushed their motorcycle in front of the Police Line. The victims, Mukesh (44) and her son Sandeep, died on the spot, with their body parts scattered across 50 meters.  

The truck driver abandoned the vehicle at the scene and fled. Passersby covered the bodies and alerted Sector 29 police, who arrived promptly, sent the remains for post-mortem, and informed the family. The police have seized the truck and registered a case, with efforts underway to arrest the accused driver.  

Sandeep, a BA third-year student, worked as a waiter in Sonipat to support his family. His father had died in a road accident 18 years ago, leaving him as the sole breadwinner. His untimely death has plunged the family and his village into mourning.  

**Police Assure Swift Action**  

Sector 29 Police Station Incharge Subhash Chandra stated that investigations are ongoing, and the accused truck driver will be arrested soon.
