New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Seven people tragically lost their lives in a horrific road accident in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday night, while three others sustained serious injuries. The accident occurred around 11 pm near the village of Bamansuta on the Badnawar-Ujjain road when a speeding gas tanker collided with a car and a pickup truck.

The impact of the collision was so severe that both vehicles were left badly damaged. A crane had to be used to extricate the trapped victims from the wreckage. Seven individuals died at the scene, while three others were immediately rushed to the primary health center in Badnawar. After receiving first aid, the injured were referred to a hospital in Ratlam due to the critical nature of their injuries.

The victims of the accident hailed from Mandsaur, Ratlam, and Jodhpur. Authorities are still working on the identification of all those involved. The police believe that the accident occurred while the victims were likely traveling to their destination.

Badnawar police arrived promptly at the scene and initiated rescue operations. A case has been filed, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident. Early findings suggest that the high speed of the tanker and possibly driver negligence may have contributed to the tragic incident.

The accident caused temporary traffic disruptions, which were cleared by the police with the help of a crane. This incident underscores the critical need for enhanced road safety measures, especially concerning speed limits and the operation of heavy vehicles during nighttime. The police and local administration are continuing their investigation into the matter.
