Sarpanch’s Brother Gunned Down by Unidentified Attackers, Leaves Behind Two Children

Batala (The Uttam Hindu): Punjab is witnessing a growing law and order crisis, with daily reports of murder and robbery incidents emerging. A recent case from Batala highlights this alarming trend, where a man was shot dead by unidentified assailants.

The victim, 50-year-old Balbir Singh, a resident of village Karnama, was killed by unknown gunmen. Balbir Singh, the younger brother of the village's current Sarpanch, Gurmeet Singh, was a father of two and ran an electrical goods shop in Adda Pangraiya. According to reports, Balbir Singh was returning to his village from his shop late at night when the attackers shot him near village Rasoolpur.

His brother, Sarpanch Gurmeet Singh, stated that there were no known enemies or personal grudges against Balbir. The police have recovered five bullet shells from the scene and are continuing their investigation. Further legal proceedings are underway to identify the culprits and bring them to justice.
