Prayagraj (The Uttam Hindu): Only a few days are left for the grand start of Maha Kumbh-2025 in Prayagraj. Thousands of devotees from all over the country and the world will reach Prayagraj in this Mahasangam of spirituality and faith. This Maha Kumbh will be famous for the stories of many unique sages and saints and their penance. Amazing stories of faith, devotion and penance are being written in this spiritual gathering. One of the major attractions among them is the Baba who wears 1.25 lakh Rudrakshas. This Baba has become an example of service and penance of Sanatan Dharma, whose name is Geetanand Giri.

Rudraksha wale Baba Geetanand Giri is also the secretary of the Haridwar branch of Shri Panchdashnam Aawahan Akhara. Baba had taken a unique pledge during the Prayagraj Kumbh in the year 2019. He has pledged to wear 1.25 lakh Rudrakshas every day for 12 years. Baba says that he has taken this pledge for the Hindu Sanatan Dharma as well as for the purpose of giving voice to Hindu Sanatan.

6 years have passed since Baba completed this difficult resolution and today he has around 2 lakh Rudrakshas on his body, whose total weight is more than 45 kg. Baba says that there are still 6 more years left for the resolution to be completed. During this time, more Rudrakshas will become a part of his body, due to which this weight may increase further.

Rudraksha Baba Geetanand Giri said that penance is our duty for Hindu Sanatan Dharma. This is our resolution for the voice of Hindu Sanatan Dharma. As for why you are wearing Rudraksha? So it is the favourite of Lord Shankar, which is very much liked by Lord Shankar. That is why we worship Lord Shankar as the deity of Lord Shiva and that is why we wear Rudraksha of Lord Shankar. He told that our resolution was of one and a quarter lakh Rudrakshas and now it has gone from one and a quarter lakh to more than two and a quarter lakh Rudrakshas. The weight is more than 45 kg. We wore Rudraksha in the Kumbh of 2019, it has been six years. It is twelve years of penance, we do penance for twelve hours every day. According to the penance and routine, we have to eat less, be very careful for twelve hours.

In Maha Kumbh 2025, many other saints like Baba with 1.25 Lakh Rudrakshas will attract the attention of devotees with their unique resolutions and penances. But if we talk about it, the objective of every saint is the same - to protect Sanatan Dharma and propagate it.
