Giving information about this operation, Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said that the arrested accused has been identified as Jaiveer Tyagi alias Javed, who originally hails from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh and was currently living in Ludhiana. He was arrested near Tara Wala Bridge in Amritsar. During the search, a hand grenade was also recovered from his possession, which has been taken into safe custody.

The DGP said that in the preliminary investigation, the accused has been found to have links with Pakistan. He was working at the behest of the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI. The investigation has also revealed that he was following the instructions of his cousin Sehlam, who lives abroad and is an active member of the ISI. In this regard, an FIR has been registered under the Explosive Substances (Amendment) Act at the State Special Operations Cell (SSOC) in Amritsar. The police is now conducting a thorough investigation to identify and arrest other members of this module.
