Punjab Police Cops Withdrawn from Arvind Kejriwal's Security Ahead of Delhi Polls

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Punjab Police have withdrawn the personnel assigned to provide security for former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal , as confirmed by the state police chief on Thursday.


Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav stated that reports of potential threats to both Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal are regularly shared with relevant agencies. He further explained, "Following instructions from the Delhi Police and the Election Commission, we have removed the Punjab police personnel from Kejriwal’s security detail."


This move comes ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, set for February 5, with results expected on February 8, marking an important political event in the region.
