Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) has written a letter to the Deputy Commissioners of the state and issued strict instructions. The Punjab government has said in strict words that any kind of bribery regarding land registration will not be tolerated. If this does not happen, action will be taken against the police officers. At the same time, the government has also decided that feedback will be taken from the people and MLAs of Punjab. This step taken by the state government to stop corruption is being considered important.

No kind of corruption will be tolerated in land registration

Let us tell you that last year, the Bhagwant Mann government, giving great relief to the common people and curbing corruption, abolished the condition of No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the registration of the plot. 'Punjab Apartment and Property Regulation (Amendment) Act-2024' was brought unanimously. Under this, strict action will now be taken against the mafias who cut illegal colonies. While the purpose of this amendment is to tighten the noose on illegal colonies, it is also to give relief to small plot owners.

Let us tell you that recently, Mann government has dismissed more than 50 police officers from constable to inspector on charges of corruption. Actually, the government has clearly warned the officers that if they fail to control corruption in their area, then action will be taken against them. Even before this, many big steps have been taken to end corruption in Punjab. A WhatsApp number was also issued to deal with corruption, so that the general public can complain. After the release of this number, many cases of corruption came to light and arrests were also made.
