Mass Protests Erupt Across U.S. Against Trump and Musk, Demonstrators Claim Duo Is "Destroying the Country"

Washington (The Uttam Hindu): In America, nationwide anger against the policies of President Donald Trump is visible on the streets. This is considered to be the biggest protest after the Women's March (2017) and Black Lives Matter (2020). On Saturday, thousands of people protested peacefully against the policies of Trump and Elon Musk in more than 1200 cities in 50 states of America. The protesters called Trump and Musk a threat to America and said that both of them are engaged in destroying the country together.

People took to the streets in America against Trump and Musk, protesters said – both of them are destroying the country together; Protests in 50 states: More than 150 social organizations, civil rights groups, labor unions, LGBTQ+ activists and election workers took part in these demonstrations. From Midtown Manhattan to Anchorage, Alaska, protesters raised their voices against layoffs, Social Security cuts, immigration policy, transgender rights and attacks on health care.

Protesters say that the government efficiency department led by Elon Musk is taking away people's jobs, while the Trump administration is weakening social security and human rights. In LA and Portland, protesters marched from Pershing Square to City Hall and shouted slogans against the government.

Amid the protests, the White House issued a statement saying that President Trump has always been in favor of providing Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid to eligible citizens. He attacked the Democrats and said that they want to give these benefits to illegal foreigners, which can lead to bankruptcy of these schemes.

Meanwhile, amidst the protests, Trump was seen busy at his luxurious house and golf course in Palm Beach, Florida. According to the White House, he played golf on Saturday and a similar program is scheduled for Sunday. A protester Broom said, "Donald Trump is trying to break America, we cannot tolerate this silently."
