Married Woman Flees After Drugging Family in Haryana, Steals Sister’s Wedding Jewellery

Nuh (The Uttam Hindu): In a shocking incident from Nuh, Haryana, a 19-year-old married woman absconded from her parental home just six months after her marriage. She reportedly fed her family carrot halwa and tea laced with intoxicants rendering them unconscious. Taking advantage of the situation, she fled with ₹2.5 lakh in cash and gold and silver jewelry meant for her younger sister’s wedding.

The incident occurred on the night of January 13. When the family regained consciousness the next morning they found the woman missing. According to the complaint lodged with the police, the woman had been staying in her maternal home for the past two months. The family suspects that someone may have influenced her to commit the act.

The girl’s brother discovered that the lock of a trunk was broken and the valuables, including a 2-tola gold necklace, earrings, 2 kg of silver jewelry and cash were missing. He and his father searched the neighborhood and contacted relatives, but no one had any information about her whereabouts. Police have registered an FIR and are actively investigating the case. Officials believe the woman was lured by someone and have assured the family that she will be located soon.
