Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): The person who threatened to kill actor Salman Khan has turned out to be a resident of Waghodiya taluka of Vadodara district in Gujarat. According to the police, the person who gave the threat is a mental patient and a notice has been sent to him for questioning. Within 24 hours of filing the FIR, the police have traced the person who sent the message from Vadodara. Police said that the name of the 26-year-old man, Mayank Pandya, a resident of a village in Waghodiya taluka of Vadodara, is a mentally ill person.

It is noteworthy that on Monday, a threat was sent to the number of the Transport Department in Worli, in which an unknown person threatened to kill the actor and also blow up his car with a bomb. After the actor received the threat, a case was registered against the unknown person in Worli Police Station and security arrangements have been increased at the actor's Galaxy Apartment.

Vadodara District Police SP Rohan Anand said, using technical intelligence, we tracked Mayank Pandya from his house. Since he is undergoing treatment for mental illness, we have sent him a notice and asked him to join the investigation.

We kept an eye on Mayank Pandya's mobile phone and behaviour and found that he is not mentally fit and is undergoing treatment. He is active on social media and wants to gain popularity. For this, he did this. Mumbai Police has sent summons for questioning.

It is worth noting that Salman Khan has received threats many times before. The accused arrested in the Baba Siddiqui murder case had revealed during interrogation that Salman Khan was also on their hit list. Shooters associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang had conducted recce of Salman Khan's Galaxy apartment in Mumbai several times. However, due to tight security, they failed in their aim.

In April last year, 5 rounds of firing were done at Salman Khan's house, a few months after which Salman's close friend and NCP leader Baba Siddiqui was also murdered. Lawrence Bishnoi had said in a TV interview that the only aim of his life is to kill Salman Khan.

Earlier, on November 12 last year, Mumbai Police had arrested a 24-year-old man from Karnataka for sending threatening messages to Salman Khan. Police had said that the accused's name is Sohail Pasha.

Last year, tight security arrangements were made outside Salman Khan's house. Bullet proof glass was specially installed on Salman Khan's balcony from where he greets his fans. High security has also been deployed outside Galaxy Apartments.
