Khalistan Supporter Amritpal’s Father Placed Under House Arrest Ahead of Protest
Raiya (Amritsar) (The Uttam Hindu): On Tuesday morning, police placed Tarsem Singh father of pro-Khalistan MP and Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh under house arrest. A significant police force was deployed to his village Jallupur Kheda, surrounding his residence from all sides.
Reports suggest that Tarsem Singh had recently expressed his intention to form a new political party. After discussions with his son, he was reportedly planning to announce the party and its office bearers at the upcoming Maghi fair where he was expected to attend alongside supporters in the Qaumi Insaaf Morcha.
Villagers revealed that police activity in the village began late Monday night, culminating in a full cordon by Tuesday morning. Over 100 officers were stationed outside Amritpal Singh’s house. While the police have not yet made an official statement, their actions indicate an attempt to prevent Tarsem Singh from participating in the planned event.
