Jammu (The Uttam Hindu): Security forces successfully eliminated two remaining terrorists, believed to be from Pakistan, who were hiding in dense foliage in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu on Tuesday evening. This follows the death of one militant the previous day. The operation indicates that these terrorists were likely planning an attack during the festive season leading up to Diwali.

The Jammu-based Army's White Knight Corps reported that all three terrorists were neutralized after an intense firefight. Continuous surveillance overnight culminated in a significant victory for the forces, with the operation resulting in the recovery of war-like stores from the slain militants. This recovery highlights the serious threat posed by these individuals and underscores the importance of maintaining security in the region.

The Army employed BMP 2 combat vehicles during the operation, which were instrumental in locating and eliminating the terrorists in the thickly vegetated area. As dawn broke on Tuesday, the terrorists attempted to breach the Army's cordon but were swiftly neutralized. Tragically, the operation also resulted in the loss of a military dog named "Phantom," who was fatally injured while assisting in locating the hidden militants.
