Uttar Pradesh (The Uttam Hindu): On Thursday, two married women from Deoria, Uttar Pradesh tied the knot at a temple, vowing to stay together for life. Both women revealed that they had faced harassment from their respective husbands. Over time, they connected on Instagram where their friendship blossomed into love over a period of six years. They decided to solidify their bond by exchanging garlands and applying sindoor (vermilion) in each other’s hair parting at the temple symbolizing their marriage. They declared that no one could now separate them.

The couple shared their emotional journey with onlookers after their wedding. They expressed their determination to live together and start a new life. The women hail from the Bansgaon area of Gorakhpur district and shared similar struggles. One of them endured daily beatings from her alcoholic husband and eventually moved back to her maternal home with her four children. The other woman also suffered due to her husband’s alcoholism and constant suspicion, which led her to leave him.

During their hardships, they found solace in each other through Instagram sharing their pain and gradually developing a deep connection. For six years, they met in secret until they decided to marry and live openly as a couple. On January 23, they visited the Dudheshwarnath temple in Rudrapur, Deoria where they exchanged vows. Though they currently lack a permanent home, the couple plans to start afresh by renting a house and building a life together.
