Embarrassment for BCCI: India-England Match Halted Due to Stadium Issue
Cuttack (The Uttam Hindu): The second ODI match being played between India and England in Cuttack had to be suddenly stopped midway today, due to which the Odisha Cricket Association and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) faced an uncomfortable situation.
In this crucial match of the ODI series, when the Indian team came out to bat, one of the floodlight towers of the Barabaati Stadium suddenly stopped working completely. Due to this unexpected incident, the game had to be stopped immediately and all the players had to return to the pavilion.
International cricket returned to Cuttack after a long time with the second match of the ODI series between India and England on Sunday, February 9. The first half of the match, which saw England bat, went smoothly without any interruption. But, as soon as the Indian team started batting, a part of the stadium suddenly went dark, due to which the match had to be stopped.
This incident caused disappointment among the spectators, while it was an embarrassing situation for the cricket officials. No official information has been given yet about when the match will resume.
