Drug Smuggler Heera Nabbed in Punjab With ₹91 Crore Worth Heroin; Links to Pakistan Unearthed

Amritsar (The Uttam Hindu):  In a well-planned operation in Punjab, Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Border Range, Amritsar arrested a smuggler from village Khaira, Police Station Gharinda, Amritsar and recovered 18.227 kg Heroin worth about Rs 91 crore from him.

Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on Friday said the arrested accused has been identified as Heera Singh alias Heera. He said investigation revealed that Heera Singh and his accomplice Kulwinder Singh alias Kinda resident of village Dauke, Thana Gharinda, were associated with Pakistan-based drug smuggler Billa. They were smuggling heroin from across the border and supplying it as per the instructions of the smuggler. The DGP said raids are being conducted to nab Kulwinder Singh and further investigation is on to bust the entire network. He said Punjab Police is working tirelessly in its fight against drugs, to ensure a safe and drug-free future for the state.
