Blackmail Angle Emerges in Himani Narwal's Murder: Police Arrests Key Accused

Rohtak (The Uttam Hindu): Haryana Police has arrested one suspect in connection with the murder of Congress worker Himani Narwal, whose body was found inside a suitcase near a highway in Rohtak on March 1. The arrest follows an intensive investigation, though police have not yet disclosed details about the accused or the motive behind the crime.  

### **Mother Alleges Political Involvement, Refuses Last Rites**  

Himani’s mother, Savita Devi, has refused to perform her daughter's last rites until all culprits are arrested. She alleged that members of the Congress party were envious of Himani’s political rise and hinted at their possible involvement in the crime. She expressed dissatisfaction with the police investigation, demanding a thorough probe into the matter.  

### **Investigation and CCTV Surveillance**  

Authorities are analyzing CCTV footage from National Highway-9 and surrounding areas, including hotels and roadside eateries, to track the suspects' movements. Surveillance cameras along the route between Himani’s home and Sampla bus stand are also being examined.  

### **Himani Narwal’s Political Journey**  

Himani had actively participated in the Bharat Jodo Yatra alongside Rahul Gandhi in Jammu and Kashmir. However, according to her mother, she became disillusioned with politics after the elections. Her family has faced tragedy before, as her elder brother was murdered in 2011, and justice was never served.  

The case continues to unfold as police investigate further leads, with pressure mounting for swift action and justice for Himani Narwal.
