Chaos Erupts as Stones Pelted on Chandrashekhar Azad's Convoy, Several Injured
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu)- There is news of stone pelting on Bhim Army chief MP Chandrashekhar Azad's convoy. His vehicle was pelted with stones near the brick kiln near Swatantrata Senani Dwar before Surir in Mathura. Four-five bike riders in the convoy have received minor injuries in the stone pelting. There was chaos as soon as the stone pelting started.
Due to the tension after the stone pelting, a heavy police force reached the spot. The police have detained the stone pelters. Chandrashekhar Azad was going to Bhagat Nagariya village which has turned into a caste conflict. There was a program to meet the families of Dalit daughters here. Due to the stone pelting, he could not go there and his meeting is being held in Ambedkar Park in Surir. Dalit daughters and their families have been called here and made to meet. Chandrashekhar said that he will ensure justice to the victim's family and he is completely with the family.
It is noteworthy that last Friday in village Karnawal of Thana Refinery area in Mathura, the goons had beaten up the family members and baraatis including two Dalit brides for leaving the road. After the incident, the father of the grooms had taken the baraat back without the marriage taking place. It is said that Tara Chandra, a resident of Brahmin Khega (Deeg, Rajasthan), had reached home with the baraat of his sons Devendra and Arjun, a Dalit resident of Karnawal, Padam Singh. Both the brothers were to get married to Padam Singh's two daughters. The rituals were going on. Both the daughters had gone to the parlor in the township to get ready with their aunt and uncle. While returning, three youths riding a bike came in front of the car in the street of the village. There was an argument over leaving the road. It is alleged that the three youths called the family members and first beat up the uncle, aunt and both the sisters. They used casteist slurs. After this, the family members and baraatis who had come there were also beaten up. Chandrashekhar Azad had reached on Friday afternoon to meet these daughters and family. Chandrashekhar's convoy left for Bhagat Nagariya from Sirrela. From here the route goes through Surir. Before Surir, stones were pelted on his convoy's vehicle near the brick kiln near the Swatantrata Senani Dwar. Some bike riders accompanying him were injured due to the stone pelting. About four to five people who pelted stones have been detained. After this, his program to go to Bhagat Nagariya was cancelled. After the stone pelting, Chandrashekhar sat in the nearby Ambedkar Park. He called the victim's family there and talked to them. He assured them of justice. Police from many police stations were present on the spot.
