Jerusalem (The Uttam Hindu): Israel refused to allow two British MPs to enter the country and detained them at the airport and later deported them. The British government has reacted sharply to this incident. Foreign Secretary David Lammy has called it 'unacceptable and a matter of serious concern'. According to media reports, when ruling Labour Party MPs Yuan Yang and Abtisam Mohammed reached Israel from London, Israeli officials detained them and prevented them from entering the country. Both were later deported.

British MPs were not allowed to enter Israel, were detained and then deported; Britain expressed displeasure: British Foreign Secretary Lammy said, "It is completely unacceptable that Israeli authorities treated MPs who were part of a parliamentary delegation in this manner. We have expressed our strong objection to this to the Israeli government." He also said that such treatment of British MPs is detrimental to bilateral relations. The British government is currently giving priority to ceasefire in Gaza, release of hostages and efforts to end violence.

Meanwhile, Israel's military operation in Gaza continues to intensify. According to the Gaza Health Ministry, 1,249 people have died so far in the recent bombing, and the total death toll since the beginning of the war (7 October 2023) has reached 50,609. Israel says it is conducting a campaign to release hostages from Hamas's occupation. Military action has been intensified again after the temporary ceasefire broke down last month. Under the new ceasefire agreement, it has been agreed to release 5 hostages every week.
