BPSC Exam Chaos: Patna Students Clash with Police in Heated Protest

Patna(The Uttam Hindu): The ongoing student protest against the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) exam continued in Patna, Bihar's capital. On Sunday evening, a group of students marched towards the Chief Minister's residence (CM House) to voice their demands for the cancellation of the recent BPSC exam and the normalization process. However, their attempt was thwarted by the police, who had set up barricades on the roads leading to the CM's residence.

The protesters, led by activist Prashant Kishor, managed to break through one barricade but were stopped by the police before they could reach the second one. As the situation escalated, the police resorted to lathi-charge to disperse the students, who were advancing towards JP Golambar from Gandhi Maidan. Despite the intervention, the protesters continued their movement, heading towards Dak Bungalow via Fraser Road.

The main demands of the students are the cancellation of the BPSC exam held recently and the scrapping of the normalization process. Many of the protesters believe the exam was conducted unfairly and are calling for it to be rescheduled. The students have asked the authorities to organize a re-examination for all candidates, particularly after allegations of discrepancies in the previous exam.

In response, the BPSC has agreed to re-conduct the exam, but only at the centers where irregularities were reported. This decision has not satisfied the students, who are seeking a broader solution to address the issues surrounding the exam process. The protest has intensified as students continue to voice their frustrations, demanding justice and transparency in the BPSC exam process. The situation remains tense, with authorities trying to manage the protest while ensuring the safety of both students and law enforcement personnel.
