BJP Gears Up After Landslide Win, Delhi State President to Meet MLAs Today
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): After 27 years, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is going to form the government in the national capital Delhi. BJP won 48 out of 70 seats in Delhi, while AAP had to be satisfied with only 22 seats. Meanwhile, the state president of BJP will meet the winning MLAs to form the government in the national capital Delhi.
According to sources, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva will meet all the winning MLAs this evening. During this, he will congratulate everyone and there is also a possibility of discussion about forming the government.
Earlier, after the election results came out, a discussion was held in the BJP office on Saturday evening with PM Modi, JP Nadda, Amit Shah regarding the swearing-in ceremony and the outline of the government to be formed in Delhi.
Sources said that the swearing-in ceremony can take place in the national capital Delhi after Prime Minister Modi returns from his foreign tour. This swearing-in ceremony will be grand. NDA leaders are expected to attend it. Apart from this, Chief Ministers of all NDA ruled states will also be invited.
According to the Election Commission data, in the polling held on February 5, BJP got 45.56 percent votes and AAP got 43.57 percent votes. However, in terms of seats, BJP went far ahead by securing 48 seats. At the same time, out of 70 assembly seats, AAP got 22 seats.
Let us tell you that BJP has won 48 seats. Out of these, 4 are Scheduled Caste (SC) and 16 are Other Backward Class (OBC) candidates.
BJP also performed well in the areas bordering Delhi. There are a total of 22 such seats which share borders with Haryana and UP and where people from Haryana and UP have influence, out of which 15 seats have gone to BJP's account.
