Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu):  Sad news has emerged from Jalandhar, Punjab, where Atul Sood, the owner of City Medical Store at Company Bagh Chowk, tragically lost his life in a house fire on Thursday night. The fire occurred at his residence in New Jawahar Nagar, where two others were also injured. At the time of the incident, Sood was sleeping on the third floor with his wife, who was fortunately rescued in time. Preliminary investigations suggest the fire may have started from a lamp left burning in the temple area of the house.

Upon receiving the emergency call, the fire brigade arrived at the scene within 10 minutes. The teams managed to bring the fire under control within 15 to 20 minutes, but unfortunately, Atul Sood had already succumbed to the effects of the fire. His wife was saved by one of their employees, who found her unconscious. It is believed that Atul died due to the toxic gases released by the fire.

Atul Sood leaves behind three children—one daughter in Australia, a son in Canada, and another daughter in Delhi. The local police from Thana-6 arrived at the scene late in the night to conduct an investigation. This tragedy follows the recent death of Sourav Dua, who ran a medical store at Paruthi Hospital, and who also passed away in a road accident on Monday.
