Washington (The Uttam Hindu): After India, TikTok has now stopped working in America as well. After the ban, the app stopped working in America late Saturday night and disappeared from Apple and Google App Store. Actually, a law is going to be implemented in America from today, under which it is necessary to close this app used by 17 crore Americans.

TikTok has made a big claim in the notice posted to the app users. The company said that Donald Trump said earlier in the day that he could give TikTok a 90-day reprieve from the ban after taking office on Monday. Let us tell you that TikTok is owned by the Chinese company ByteDance.

When the app went down at night, app users received a message at around 10:45 pm that a law banning TikTok in America has come into force. The company further said, this means that you cannot use TikTok right now. But, we are fortunate that President Trump has indicated that he will work with us on a solution to restart TikTok after taking office. Stay tuned.

Other apps owned by ByteDance, including video editing app CapCut and lifestyle social app Lemon8, were also seen offline and unavailable in the US App Store as of late Saturday night.
