An Act of Cruelty: Boyfriend Allegedly Forces Girlfriend to Deliver Baby, Buries Newborn

Raipur (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking incident has come to light in Raipur where a boyfriend allegedly forced his girlfriend to deliver a baby and then buried the newborn. The victim claims that the baby lived for 10 minutes after birth before being buried by the boyfriend and his family. The case is from the Khomtarai police station area. According to reports, the victim, a rape survivor shared that she met Krishna Sahu who lives near Lodi Para Station Road at a wedding about a year ago. Their friendship turned into love and Krishna promised to marry her.


The couple then began living together in a rented accommodation in the Khomtarai area. Krishna slowly gained her trust and their relationship turned physical, leading to her pregnancy. When she informed Krishna he agreed to the pregnancy but later, after six months his sister Payal advised her to get an abortion and then marry him. The victim states that in November 2024, Krishna and his family admitted her to the Jubesta Hospital in Devendra Nagar where she was given pain medication for two days before being forced into delivery. After the delivery, the baby lived for 10 minutes. When the victim regained consciousness and inquired about the baby she was informed that Krishna and his family had taken the newborn with them. The victim claims that Krishna posed as her brother in the hospital while his mother claimed to be the victim's mother. Krishna's sister was also present. After the delivery, the baby was wrapped in cloth and buried by the accused at a graveyard in Devendra Nagar. The family then returned home. Shortly afterward, Krishna refused to marry the victim and went into hiding.

In response to the incident, the management head of Jubesta Hospital, Ugrasen Nayak stated that once they receive details of the patient, they would be able to provide further information. Efforts to contact the accused, Krishna Sahu were unsuccessful as he did not respond. The victim has lodged a complaint with Raipur SSP Dr. Lal Ummed Singh, citing assault. Khomtarai Police Station In-charge Sachin Singh confirmed that an FIR has been filed. The accused is currently on the run and efforts are underway to locate and arrest him soon.
