New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): YouTube is set to change its advertisement display policy, with the new changes slated to take effect from May 12. According to the latest information, these changes will improve the overall video streaming experience for users. Under the new policy, ads will no longer interrupt dialogues or scenes in videos. YouTube has stated that users will soon experience fewer disruptions from ads. Starting in May, ads will only appear during natural breakpoints in the content. Previously, users would encounter ads at any point during the video, disrupting the flow. However, YouTube is changing this by ensuring that ads will only be placed during scene transitions or pauses.

This shift comes as a response to user complaints about the interruptions caused by ads during videos, which were negatively impacting the overall viewing experience. According to the company, this change is expected to increase video views, ultimately boosting creators' earnings.

The new feature will be applied to older videos starting in May. YouTube will also adjust mid-roll ads on older content. Creators who want control over ad placements can set preferences in YouTube Studio before May 12. They will have the option to opt-out of the new settings. Is This the End of Annoying Ads? Additionally, YouTube plans to introduce a tool for creators to monitor how ad placement impacts the viewing experience. With the new approach, creators will be able to earn 5% more compared to those who rely solely on manual ad placements. YouTube aims to provide both manual and automatic options for ad placement, reducing the dependency on manual settings and making it easier for creators to manage ads while increasing their earnings.
